Show Highlights
Teriano - Former World Vision Sponsor Child

worldvision.gif This morning we were joined by a woman named Teriano.  She's been in Canada studying in University for 4 years... prior to that she was a World Vision sponsor child from Kenya.  Proof what sponsorship can do.

She's a shining example of how a single sponsor helping a single child can truly impact a village.  Her story talks of a culture that believes women simply cannot do many things.  Teriano defied the odds and now serves as a source of inspiration to many women and young girls back at her village.

Check out the entire thing here if you missed it!

If you're interested in making a difference in a life like Teriano's visit World Vision's site and sponsor a child.  It's just that simple.

Also don't forget to join the World Vision Central Canada facebook page for all World Vision events (like free movies) that are going on around Winnipeg/Manitoba.

Project 86 Concert Review

"Absolutely PERFECT show tonight. Niverville, Winnipeg, and surroundingregions...thank you for helping us have one of the best shows in the history of our band!" words from Andrew Schwab.

How often have you been at a show and then see a comment like that written on their website about the show you attended. I've been to my share of shows thru the years and yet this was the first time I'd seen such sincerity from any band.

On the damp streets of Niverville on the June 11th Orange County's Project 86 graced the stage and showed Southern Manitoba why they've been around for over 13 years and have such a great following.

With the rain falling off and on through out the night I'm sure some people were discouraged with it and decided to stay home. For the hundreds that weathered the storm they were in for a treat. Just after 11 o'clock the boys from Project 86 hit the stage and brought with them a live show that folks from Niverville had never experienced in the past.

They kicked off the show with
Sincerely Ichabod. This was just a sign of what was about to come for the next 85 minutes.  Andrew is a class act, over the years he's had the chance to grow as a vocalist, lyricist, and preformer. It was evident. He engaged the crowd and kept the energy up by insisting the crowd get crazy, invade each others space, start circle pits, and sing along. The mosh pit was so tight it gave Andrew a few chances to do a little crowd surfing as well. Andrew wasn't one to just stand around and in a few cases he was moving so much the microphone cord disconnected leaving the only vocals coming from the energy filled fans.

As Project finished their set with Evil (a Chorus of Resistance) the rain started to come down slightly and was actually a blessing to concert goers as the rain was refreshing to most. As the lights went down the crowd still cheered for more from the boys from the west coast.

To the fans request the band took the stage again and cranked it up with Stein's Theme (personal favorite) and then finished the show off with a bang is fan favorite The Spyhunter. Epic.

From the crowds reaction it was a shock to many to find out that Project had never played in Manitoba in the past. Project 86 is a band of class. They show maturity and carry themselves in a humble manner and love to share their music with all those who will listen. Well done Project 86. Well done.

Here's the full set list:

Sincerely Ichabod // Safe Haven // Oblivion // The Butcher // Me vs. Me // One Armed Man // Hallow Again // Destroyer // Last Meal // Illuminate // Evil (A Chorus Of Resistance) // Stein's Theme // The Spyhunter
