After a rough loss to the Roughriders this past week including the loss of Buck Pierce (who injured his throwing arm), the Bombers truly do have their backs against the wall. We get into the locker room this week with Marcellus to see what is going on behind the scenes in the dressing room. Is the morale of the troops down? Have we reached the point of self-destruction?
Also since this is Marcellus's first time on the Buzz we got to know him and his freshly married self.
August 31, 2010 - Markus Howell
Winnipeg born Markus Howell was on the Bomber
Buzz this week. He grew up right here in the 'peg attending St Matthews
Anglican Church. While he's been in the league 10 years (first drafted
by the Bombers), he's gone on to win a Grey Cup with the Stamps back in
2008, he's back here in his hometown. His first priority? Nope not
football. Family.
August 25, 2010 - Andre Douglas
He's
a giant, there's not getting around that. 6'4" 318 lbs... crazy! I
felt small just talking to him! Although the strangest part is he
sounded way more like a big giant teddy bear than an offensive lineman.
What an incredible guy. I really hope he sticks around (he's only been
around since May). We should see his debut at the Labour Day Classic.
August 18, 2010 -
Alex Brink
Every quarterback has that last dying second touchdown throw to win the
big game... Alex Brink is no different. Hear that story and countless
other things like his preference between the Xbox360, PS3, and the Wii
and his heart for education.
August 11, 2010 - Steven Jyles
What do you get when you cross the Baton Rouge, Indian
Food, a diehard family man, with Brett Favre? The Backup QB for the
Winnipeg Blue Bombers - or at the very least a personal 1 on 1 interview
with the guy. Stevie wonder is not a man of few words once we got him
going.
August 4, 2010 - Dorian Smith
All the way from the sunny state of California we had the chance to
catch up with just
recently activated Dorian Smith. Find out how he's wanting to get more
involved in the community and what he was doing in his time while he was
on the sidelines. With an upcoming game against the Ti-Cats I'm pretty
sure we speak for everyone when we say we're glad that he's going to be
ready to suit up this weekend. Bring on the Cats.
July 28, 2010 - Phillip Hunt
Growing up in Texas your known for a few things, your automatically
stereotyped with liking
guns, having George Bush a Texan, and the Dallas Cowboys. Well not all
Texans like the Dallas Cowboys (thank goodness) because Phillip
considers himself a fan of none other then the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
Find out how this Defensive End spends his days when he's not on the
gridiron in pursuit of a Grey Cup
July 21, 2010 - Aaron Hargreaves
A boy born in BC, a fan of Toronto Maple Leafs, and playing
in Winnipeg. If that's not somehow a contradiction of Canadianess I'm
not sure what is. Anyways, don't hold the Leafs-fan card against the
guy. Check out this week's Bomber Buzz with backup wide receiver Aaron
Hargreaves.
July 14, 2010 - Joe Lobendahn
Family, frends, Call of Duty, and that Aloha
spirit... that's our captain of the defense, our middle linebacker a Mr.
Joe Lobendahn. Last week we missed him because he was hanging with
his pops, but we managed to secure him for this week to dig deeper into
who this guy really is and what we can expect for the Hamilton Ti-Cats
game this weekend.
July 7, 2010 - Mike Renaud
I don't think ever in the history of football
has the punter filled in for a middle linebacker, but we pulled off the
impossible today. See Joe Lobendahn (Middle Linebacker) had some family
in this week and wanted to focus spending time with them (can't blame
the guy... it's not often we have weather that is welcoming to natives
of Hawaii).
So Mike Renaud stepped up. Great guy and apparently better than Joe at
Call of Duty. Who knew?
June 30, 2010 - Alexis Serna
So we decided to kick off this year's bomber
buzz with.. who else... but the KICKER! Alexis Serna. We had a lot of
fun chatting with him last year (by the way he went 40 for 49 in field
goal attempts... not too shabby), so we figured it best to start on the
special teams this year.
Also Alexis is a newly married guy (5 months, congrats dude) and also
become the Chapel Representative of the Bombers this year. He's a guy
with a great heart for kids... and he's passing out tickets to the gun
show.
Missed it? Don't worry.
2009 Season
Barrin Simpson
This morning we talked with Barrin Simpson LB #5 of the
Winnipeg Blue Bombers. The boys in blue are coming off a tough loss this
past week against Calgary when they managed to out-score the defending
Grey Cup Stamps in the last two quarters but it proved to not be enough
losing the game 31-23.
This Saturday the Bombers will play host to the top of the league
Montreal Alouettes with the game starting at 7pm.
